Join us as we decorate the sanctuary for the Christmas season Sunday evening at 6:00 pm, November 27, 2011. We will start the service by chiming the hour and lighting our communion candles and the first Advent Wreath candle. There will be readings and scripture that prepare us for the Advent season. We have some traditions from the past like the presentation of our handmade stoles and alter hangings plus the children decorating the tree with Chrismons, new and old, made by our church members. After the poinsettias, the garlands and the wreaths are brought in we will have time to reflect on what Advent means as we take communion. The night is filled with music, hymns, and carols and followed by a dessert tasting. This is a beautiful and meaningful service and a family tradition for many in the community.
