With the gracious financial support and encouragment of Lee and Karen Fry we were enabled to turn a wasteland between the Fellowship Hall and the parking lot, one of the most used entrances to the church, into a calming garden. Under the leadership of John Thompkins and with the advice of many others, a sprinkling system was installed, the land was tilled, a stone entryway to the Fellowship was constructed by volunteers, and shrubs and plants were installed by volunteers. Metal borders and mulch in certain areas has just been installed. And we already have an idea of how to improve it -- we dream of adding 2-4 nice park benches along the stone entryway so that people could sit and visit under the shade of our large oak trees. A big thanks needs to go to Karen and Lee Fry who made this project possible, to John Thompkins who not only ramroded it but spend a great deal of his time and sweat making this happen, and to all the other volunteers to jumped in to help!
