Ash Wednesday Services

Ash Wednesday is February 22 and we will celebrate the beginning of the Season of Lent with a joint service with the members of Trinity Presbyterian Church of Denton.  The service will take place at First Christian Church, 1203 Fulton Street, at 7:00 p.m.  Rev. Craig Hunter of Trinity Presbyterian will bring the message "Sounding The Alarm," which comes from Joel 2:1-2, 12-17 and Matthew 6:1-6, 16-21.  There will be a joint choir and outstanding music.  The sanctuary is handicapped accessible.  A staffed nursery will be provided.  Communion will be served for all who desire to partake.  Community members are, as always, invited to attend!

Fat Sunday Luncheon And Dessert Auction

FatSundayAuction2012_250w.jpgIt was a wonderful pasta luncheon served by the youth and their parents but the real deal was the annual dessert auction.  Cassie Sexton, our go-to auctioneer, is seen belting out the current price for desserts as they quickly escalated.  Rummor has it that the youth group made $700 for the summer church camp fund!  Our thanks to all those folks, with or without a sweet tooth, who came and helped raise money for camp scholarships.

Sunday Worship Information

This Sunday, February 26, Pastor John Burton will present the message "Sign of the Covenant" which comes from Genesis 9: 8-17.  It would be great if you were to read the scripture before worship!   Our sanctuary is handicapped accessible.  We have a staffed nursery for younger children. All believers are welcome to share in communion.  Check out the information under "Worship" to understand what we do in worship.
