Disciples Women
Disciples Women's Ministry better known as DWM is for all women of the church. We, here at First Christian, have three women's circles (groups) that meet monthly. The ladies above were at the N.T.A. Women's Retreat in 2010.
Sarah Circle meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 2:00 p.m. in a members home. There is a Bible Study, brief business meeting, and fellowship over dessert. This is a joint group with some members being from the church in Aubrey. There are currently approximately 8 members.
The Priscilla Circle meets on the 2nd Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. in someone's home. They also have a brief business meeting, a Bible study, and fellowship over dessert. The ages of the group are from 50 to 100 and it is open to all women regardless of age.
Our newest Circle is the Rebecca Circle which meets on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 11:00 a.m. in the church library. The agenda is a program, fellowship and lunch. This group is open to all women regardless of age.
There is an area women's retreat at the Disciples Crossing camp located in Athens each spring. 15-18 women from the church participate even if they do not participate in other women's activities. This is a great weekend of visiting, spiritual renewal, and meeting women from all over North Texas. There are other area meetings and service projects in which we participate.
